Benny Johnson

Mandolin, Harmony and Lead Vocals

Benny grew up in Russell Springs, Kentucky, where his father sparked his early passion for bluegrass. Though he started out on guitar, he eventually found his home on the mandolin and behind the mic, singing both lead and harmony. By day, he puts his Ph.D. in theoretical chemistry to work leading cutting-edge AI research,  but once he’s off the clock, he channels that same spirit of innovation into the timeless energy of bluegrass, a tradition he’s loved since childhood.
